Map markers
The following terms will mostly be used in mission planning, briefing and on the map.
ASR – Alternate Supply Route
Alternative route in case main route is not usable (see: MSR)
BOF – Base of Fire
A place where a designated Base-of-Fire element will provide supporting fires to the assault element
CCP – Casaulty Collection Point
Place behind the front line where wounded soldiers should be brought to. Medical personell is waiting there.
DZ – Drop Zone
Area in which soldiers or material will drop out of an aircraft
FOB – Forward operations base
Fortified position acting as base, with supplies etc.
FUP – Form Up Point
where the platoon gathers in formation before moving out
LOA – Limit Of Advance
Limit that should not be crossed when advancing
LP – Listening Point (Post)
Specific point used to monitor or gather information on hostile forces in the vicinity.

LZ – Landing zone
Area where air transportation will occur
MSR – Main Supply Route
Main route to take. Often a big road or something.
OP – Observation Point (Post)
Specific point used to monitor or gather information on hostile forces in the vicinity.

PL – Phase Line
A line you do not cross until the next phase is started. Basically its a point the commander wishes to be reached at a certain time
PUP – Pick-Up Point
Place where troops may be picked up by transportation. Similar to a LZ but used for ground vehicles.
RP – Report Line
Units report that they crossed the RP so command knows where you are
RV – Rondevouz Point
Generic rally point where troops should meet. There are abbreviations for specific such points:
ERV (ERP) – Emergency Rondevouz Point
Predefined point where leaders direct their teams in case of emergency
FRV – Final Rendezvous Point
ORV (ORP) – Objective Rondevouz Point
Meeting point near an objective. Typically used to set up avenues of approach to said objective (“Alpha will move to ORP DIAMOND and attack from there on my command”).
RP – Rally Point

Communications
The following terms will mostly be used in shortening the ingame communications.
ACE – Ammo, Casaultys, Equipment
Report to let superios know the status of key information.

CASEVAC – Casaulty Evacuation
Extraction of casaultys by some means.

Mainly used with tanks, – makes things easier
MEDEVAC – Medical Evacuation
Extraction of casaultys with medical help.
OPORD – Operational Orders
An OPORD is the plan for a mission (situation, enemies, friendlies ……..)
